St. Christopher School - Estate ManagementProject Background
The project was to replace all sealant joints on the existing glass roof that was leaking due to the original mastic breaking down, with a linear metreage totalling 500m approximately.
Application
The old sealant was removed by cutting back as far as possible with a Stanley knife and any residue sealant on the glass was cleanly removed by scraping with a blade. Once brushed clean, both the aluminium frame and glass was then primed with our NP2 sealant primer for non porous surfaces. Once dried, our 996 Glazing LM silicone in black was then applied in a 8x8mm chamfoured fillet joint between the aluminium frame and glass panels. The 996 Glazing LM silicone in black was also used to seal between the aluminium frame crossover joints in an up and over butt joint formation.
