In 2003 Warrington Wolves Rugby League team moved from Wilderspool Stadium, their home of 108 years, to a brand new stadium; The Halliwell Jones. The stadium was notable for bucking the common trend of modern stadia by introducing two all terraced stands as well as two seated areas. The stadium is built on a former site of the Walkers of Warrington Brewery and the official capacity was originally 13,000. Everbuild products were used as part of an extension of the stadiums east stand to create a further 2,000 spaces and bring the capacity up to 15,000.
Application
In order to extend the east stand, pre-cast concrete was placed in the corners. P1 Primer was applied to the pre-cast panels and Foam Joint Backer Rod was applied to the back of the joint. Hybriflex FR was then applied to the joint giving the joint a fire rating and a hard surface for foot traffic. This does away with a twin seal system which cuts down on application time.
